Overview
A real-time cinematic sequence developed in Unreal Engine 5, combining gameplay interaction, dialogue cutscene, and action transition into a seamless experience.
The scene begins with a gameplay-driven interaction, triggering a transition into a directed dialogue with a boss character, followed by a cinematic escape sequence. The entire flow is designed to feel continuous, without breaking immersion between gameplay and cinematic moments.

Gameplay Integration
Implemented interaction logic and camera blending using Blueprints, enabling a smooth transition from player control to cinematic presentation and back into action.
Cinematic Direction & Sequencing
Directed the full sequence using Sequencer, with camera work built on cinematography and editing principles.
Applied shot composition techniques such as wide shots, close-ups, and over-the-shoulder framing to support character interaction and narrative clarity.
Maintained continuity using the 180-degree rule and consistent screen direction, while controlling pacing and rhythm of cuts to guide the viewer.
Character Performance
Recorded mocap animation using MetaHuman Live Link and applied it to character performances.
Handled dialogue recording and sound editing to enhance emotional delivery and timing.
Outcome
A cohesive real-time cinematic demonstrating strong integration of gameplay, direction, and technical execution, with a focus on seamless transitions and cinematic storytelling.
